TGIDidyoumissmeF…eerSaturday! I just returned from ten great days in the Emerald Isle and I can’t express how great it was other than to say it was grand! Thanks a million to Ireland and its people who invited the Lynch clan into their warm community and showed us their hospitality and the true beauty of Ireland is not just its 40 shades of green but its people. If you ever get a chance to go, take it. You’ll come home happier than when you left and what better vacation could you ask for.
On the way to the airport I dropped my phone, a daily occurance for me, and it didn’t work for the entire trip. What a savior for me that was! To be disconnected at first was disconcerting but it became a welcomed relief. In the beginning I was constantly checking my pocket to feel for the phone, but at the end it was a joy to not be a slave to an electronic device! When I was younger I used to have cell phone free Sundays-a day where I would fast from my phone and facebook and every other important aspect that I thought my phone meant to me. I am going to try this again and ask others to join what should be a day of rest, of peace, and enjoy cellphone-free Sundays. It will be hard at first but eventually I think it will become a mini vacation for some of us, (myself included) who thought life without a phone was not worth living.
I hope that your week was as great as ours. A few weeks ago I wrote that we should make this the summer to remember. I hope we all get that chance. May God bless you and yours and hold each of us in the palm of His hand.
